Overall Goal for Winter Quarter - Story Clarity!Thursday Feb 22nd Assignment #7 Review Lecture (Creating Compelling Animations for VR) Assignment #8 All motion and interaction should be roughed / blocked in for all 3 Acts. Please meet in your Groups to identify and split up your remaining tasks. Determine exactly what is required for you to see your entire act in VR. Think carefully about prototyping. Think about efficiency. Pitch to the your group and then the entire class and then apply feedback you receive from the staff. Determine which story parts to focus on (which beats are essential) and identify where you will face the toughest challenges. Build in story and technical backups where needed. Tuesday Feb 27 11:30 am Motion Review Session (after class) with Dave. Review all progress. Motion for each act and organize questions and concerns to present to him that are holding you back so that he can open options for you to move ahead. Tuesday Feb 27 5:30 pm Lab Session Review all motion (Move everything on a spline so that we can see it) within your motion groups. Share any Tech Art in YOUR Tech Art Group. Continue to work on Acts in same Groups with the focus of completing blocked in motion and simple interaction. Get feedback about motion and interaction in VR from other groups. Update based on feedback in the lab and iterate for class on Thursday March 1. Thursday March 1 5:30 pm Lecture Costas Presentation (Future of authoring content and AR) Review all motion and interactions in class for each Act/Group. Collect Feedback. Assignment #9 Polish 15 seconds completely in each Act/Group for review on Tuesday in Lab with Dave. These Polished sections should serve as a “Vertical slice“ for your group's act and will be your “Signature” moments. Tuesday March 6 11:30 am Dave Hunt! Session Review All Blocked in Motion and Polished shots and Interaction. Tuesday March 6 5:30 pm Lab Session -address Dave’s Feedback. Pull all three Acts together. Prepare project for sharing with others. Make sure performance is good enough. Wednesday March 7 3:30 pm Demo. We will collect Video for the class to see that covers our pipeline and bring in one headset for students in the VR seminar to experience and collect Fresh Eyes. Thursday March 8 5:30 pm Our last in class Lecture Our last production Review in Class. Piece all of the Acts together into one and coordinate on getting it all to work together. Review all three Acts together and provide Final Feedback Friday March 9 3-5 Fresh Eyes! Have a good time! Last meeting. Go take a break!!! |
